Malou makes AI recommend you. Loyalist turns that visit into a regular.
Malou is built for being recommended, and it goes wide: listings on fifty or more platforms, local SEO, location pages written for AI search, social publishing and review replies drafted by an AI trained on hospitality. Loyalist manages listings and answers reviews too, then keeps going once the guest sits down. It builds the record from the booking and the check, lands the review on the person who wrote it, and shows whether any of it brought them back.
Malou
An AI-powered local discovery platform.
- 01You need the long tail, and a presence in AI search results. Fifty or more platforms and location pages built to be quoted by an assistant, not just the five places most guests actually look.
- 02Social media is part of the same job. Planning, publishing and scheduling across every location is theirs, and Loyalist does none of it.
- 03You want the work done for you. Their Copilot tier puts their own marketing team behind the software, which is a service Loyalist does not sell.
Loyalist
The AI platform that turns guest data into revenue.
- 01Discovery is working and retention is not. People are finding you, and nobody can say which of them came back, what they spent, or when they last booked. That record is the thing Loyalist builds.
- 02You want the reply to know who it is answering. A two-star from a regular who has spent thousands should not read like a two-star from a stranger, and that needs the visit history attached to the review.
- 03You want a channel to the guest, not only to the search result. Email and SMS reach the people who already came, cut by spend, covers and time since the last booking, and the host knows who is walking in tonight.
Malou and Loyalist, axis by axis.
Both keep your listings right and your reviews answered. Where they part is what happens once somebody actually walks in.
| Axis | Malou | Loyalist |
|---|---|---|
| Built around | Local discovery: listings on 50 or more platforms, local SEO, AI search visibility, social and reviews. | A guest profile from POS, reservations, reviews and private events, so the person who found you stops being a stranger. |
| Where it works | Before the guest has decided, in search, maps, AI assistants and social feeds. | From the booking onward, and every visit after that. |
| Reviews | Replies drafted by an AI trained for hospitality, with semantic analysis of themes across locations. | Reviews land on the guest who wrote them wherever the details support it, beside their visits and spend. |
| Who it is for | Multi-location restaurant groups of three or more, franchises, independents and agencies. | Full-service hospitality groups, from one room to fifty locations. |
| Reach | Fifty or more listing platforms, worldwide, in English, French, Italian and Spanish. | Five listing platforms, plus the reservation, POS, review and private event systems a restaurant already runs. |
Malou works on being chosen. Loyalist works on being chosen again.
These two overlap more than the categories suggest. Both manage listings, both answer reviews, both ask guests for one afterwards, and on Google, Apple Maps, Facebook, Yelp and TripAdvisor the listings job is the same job. Malou reaches much further before the visit: fifty or more platforms, local SEO, location pages written for AI search, and social publishing that Loyalist has no product for. Loyalist takes over the moment that stranger becomes a guest. Run together they cover both halves of the problem, the one that gets somebody through the door and the one that brings them back.
- Hours and menus managed on Google, Apple Maps, Facebook, Yelp and TripAdvisor
- Review replies drafted and sent
- Asking a guest for a review after their visit
- Every review platform landing in one inbox
- Listings across fifty or more platforms
- Local SEO and location pages written for AI search
- Social media planned, published and scheduled
- Reviews landing on the guest who wrote them
- A guest record assembled from bookings, checks and reviews
- Email and SMS campaigns to the guests themselves
- Private dining booked by contract, landing on the guest record
- Covers and spend attributed to the campaign that produced them
What you get with Loyalist.
- Turn a recommendation into a record. Malou can tell you how many people found you and chose you. It cannot tell you which of them sat down, what they ordered, or whether they ever came back. Loyalist starts the guest record at the booking and the check.
- Answer the review knowing who wrote it. Malou drafts a reply from the review text and the location it came from. Loyalist matches the review to a guest first, so the draft already knows this is a regular of six years and roughly what they spend.
- Market to the guest, not the search result. Email and SMS campaigns reach the guests themselves, cut by spend, covers and time since the last booking. Malou works on being found, and has no channel to that guest once they have found you.
- Put private events on the same record. Tripleseat and Perfect Venue sync onto the guest record, so a December buyout sits beside the Tuesday booking. A discovery platform has nowhere to put either one.
- Count covers, not impressions. Loyalist reports whether the guest came back and what they spent. Malou reports rankings, organic traffic and review volume. Both are real numbers, and only one of them is revenue.

Why operators love Loyalist.
Loyalist’s centralized VIP line and guest look-up feature have centralized our guest relations, and made it easier for our teams to find the relevant information about our diners.
Mattos Hospitality I have a better idea of who my guests are — who my best regulars are, who has not been back in a while, who loves wines, who comes to special events.
Cedric Nicaise The Noortwyck It has added value and efficiency to spaces we needed and introduced new approaches we hadn’t thought of.

When is Malou the better choice?
When being found is the problem. Loyalist manages hours and menus on Google, Apple Maps, Facebook, Yelp and TripAdvisor, which covers where most guests look, and that is where it stops. Local SEO, location pages written for AI search, social publishing and the long tail of fifty or more platforms are Malou’s job, and they go much further into it than we do.
When is Loyalist the better choice?
When you are already being found and it is not turning into repeat business. Loyalist builds the guest record from the booking and the check, reaches those people by email and text, puts private events on the same profile, and reports the covers and the spend each campaign produced. None of that is work Malou does.
Which is better for a restaurant, Malou or Loyalist?
They answer different questions, so the honest answer is which problem you have. If nobody knows you exist, Malou is built for that and goes wider at it than we do. If people are finding you and not coming back, that is the part Loyalist works on, and Malou has no product for it. A guest Malou wins is a stranger to Malou forever: it never sees the booking, the check or the second visit. Loyalist builds that record, markets to the guest directly, and reports the covers and spend a campaign produced. Most groups past three locations eventually want both.
Do Loyalist and Malou do the same thing?
They meet on listings and reviews and part everywhere else. On Google, Apple Maps, Facebook, Yelp and TripAdvisor the listings job is the same, and both answer reviews and ask guests for one afterwards. Past that Malou is about being recommended, and Loyalist is about what happens after somebody takes the recommendation.
Does Loyalist manage listings, menus and local SEO?
Listings and menus, yes, on the platforms that matter most. Hours and menus are managed across Google, Apple Maps, Facebook, Yelp and TripAdvisor, and on Facebook the Page is read back afterwards to confirm the change landed rather than assuming it. Local SEO is not something Loyalist does at all, nor are photos, location pages or the long tail of fifty-plus platforms. That is Malou’s ground.
Does Loyalist help us show up in ChatGPT and AI search?
No, and it would be a stretch to claim otherwise. Accurate hours and menus on the main platforms help any system that reads them, but Malou sells AI search visibility as a product, with location pages written for it. If being recommended by an assistant is the goal, that is their work, not ours.
We use Malou for review responses. Do we have to move?
No. Both answer reviews, so keep whichever your team likes and send replies from one place. What Loyalist adds sits underneath the reply rather than inside it. The review is matched to a guest profile, so you can see their spend, their visit history, and whether they booked again after you answered. Malou replies per location. Loyalist replies per person.
Do we need both Malou and Loyalist?
A group nobody can find, with no record of the guests it already has, has two problems rather than one. Malou works on the half before anyone walks in. Loyalist works on the half after. Neither tool does the other one’s job, and plenty of groups run one of each.
